CCTV cameras in Industry can help speed up your production by monitoring key manufacturing processes. Cameras may also be a useful tool in monitoring Health & Safety at various stages of production. Network cameras provide the ideal solution for this type of application, cameras are simply connected to the nearest Ethernet socket for direct viewing anywhere on your computer network. CCTV cameras can now be 'Networked' via LAN/Wan/Internet allowing images to be viewed remotely on any PC or PDA.
This can be achieved in a number of ways, for example an existing system may be added to a Digital Video Recorder with integral LAN facility or by using a separate Video Server.
A Video Server may be added to any standard CCTV system or single camera allowing very cost effective remote monitoring. You can also use a DVR card this will slot into the back of a PC converting part of your PC into a Digital Video Recorder the cameras are then networked using the Ethernet connection on your PC.
Another way is to use a camera that has an integral video server, these cameras are assigned an individual IP address and will function as complete standalone systems.
Networking new CCTV systems can offer considerable savings over conventional hardwired installations especially in larger systems, this is due to the reduction in the amount of cabling required to send the images to the monitoring position. A network camera is simply connected to the nearest Ethernet connection on your existing LAN.
